A TEACHER FROM UNIVERSITY ( PART 3): NICE TO MEET YOU ALEJANDRA

This year we had the chance to have Alejandra  Alfaro  as a teacher trainee in the groups of 1º ESO 15 and 3º ESO 1. She has been an amazing teacher and showed us many different educational tools that we hadn't used before in class such as Bamboozle and Quizlet. 

It was especially in the group of 3º ESO 1 where she put into practice her teaching skills with a huge variety of activities that finally led to the final product shown below. We created a digital display in Augmented Reality ( with Cospaces Edu) where we described where we had been in our last holiday before the pandemic using a range of past tenses as well as the vocabulary learnt in the Didactic Unit that she had carefully planned for us. The truth is that we have missed travelling because of the pandemic but now we miss Alejandra too!!

SMART LEGENDS OF CÁCERES ( PART 1)

 Students from 1º ESO 15 have been doing some research on some of the most popular legends of the city of Cáceres so that they become more visible and accesible to tourists and visitors. It is evident that new technologies are greatly contributing to the digitalization of the cultural contents of our city with the installation of tourist information interactive totem in strategic areas, we must  not forget our mythical legends and their importance for Cáceres. This project's objective is to come up with a digital product in AR ( Augmented Reality) using the educational tool Cospaces Edu and Merge Cubes. 

 During the first stage of our project, students lelanrt about researched about the legends in Spanish, translating them into English; during the second stage, students will transfer those contents onto a digital environment using a collaborative presentation first ( created with Slidesmania) and then the AR toolCospaces mentioned above. 

The legends chosen by students were the following:

  • The Legends of the Monkey's House.
  • The Legend of the Golden Coin.
  • The Legend of Mansaborá.
  • The Legend of the Sowrdsmith's Tower.
In order for students to know where these legends took place, we visited the Historic Town, where they also presented their legends like proper tourist guides. Here's their final presentation and some photos of the guided tour below:

CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY 2020

 Once again, in December 2020 we held the already traditional Christmas Jumper Day. Students from all bilingual groups took part in it and the results were truly amazing, as you can see below.

We also had the chance to visit the Bilingual Section Christmas Tree in the hall. It's a very special one since it has been designed using Augmented Reality technology. Tips on how to spend an environmentally-friendly Christmas are hidden behind each of the objects in the room. Have a close look at both the photos and video and see if you can uncover some of the messages!!
