CONGRATS TO OUR NEWLY GRADUATED STUDENTS

 Last Thursday, the graduation ceremony of our 4th ESO students took place in the Palacio de Congresos in Cáceres. 

It was an event full of music, dance, speeches, reflections and encouragement for the new stage of these kids.

We wish you all the luck in the world in your new stage!

El pasado jueves tuvo lugar, en el palacio de congresos de Cáceres,  el acto de graduación de nuestros alumnos de 4ª de ESO. 

Fue un acto lleno de música, baile, discursos, reflexiones y ánimos para la nueva etapa de estos chicos.

¡¡Os deseamos toda la suerte del mundo en vuestra nueva etapa!!

ENGLISH CORNER - FUNNY BREAKS

 

 We have just finished  the active break activities for this academic year 2021/2022.

 Thank you to all the students and English teachers involved in this activity! 

English Corner has been a great success. Friday breaks have been different, fun and very English! 

Damos por finalizadas las actividades de los recreos activos durante este curso 2021/2022.

Gracias a todo el alumnado y al profesorado de inglés implicados en esta actividad! 

El English Corner ha sido todo un éxito. Los recreos de los viernes han sido diferentes, divertidos y muy ingleses!! 

MEASURING

 The 1st ESO students have gone out to the playground in Maths class.

We have introduced the contents of the 3rd evaluation in a different way.... We are going to study units of measurement, plans, scales, etc. and we have started practising.

They have had to measure different spaces in the school and draw them to scale. 

They have been very motivated and interested and have learned a lot. 

We are missing the second part.... we will have to digitalise our work and the result will be used in Physical Education class for orientation practice.

 Los alumnos de 1º ESO han salido al patio en clase de Matemáticas.

Hemos introducido los contenidos de la 3ª evaluación de una forma diferente....vamos a estudiar unidades de medida, planos, escalas, etc y hemos empezado practicando.

Han tenido que medir distintos espacios del centro y dibujarlos a escala. 

Han estado muy motivados e interesados y han aprendido un montón. 

Nos falta la segunda parte....tendremos que digitalizar después nuestro trabajo y el resultado lo utilizarán en clase de Educación Física para hacer prácticas de orientación.

CULTURE WEEK

 

On 26th, 27th and 28th April, we celebrated the cultural week of our school with a lot of activities inside and outside the classroom. 

Thanks to all the teachers who have been involved in the organisation of these activities so we can enjoy our time together and school life ina different way.

Los días 26, 27 y 28 de abril, celebramos la semana cultural de nuestro centro con un montón de actividades dentro y fuera de las aulas. MEET AND GREET CÁCERES CIUDAD DE BALONCESTO

 

On May 6th, the students of 1st and 2nd PMAR and 4th ESO academic attended a training session of Cáceres Ciudad de Baloncesto.

 At the end of the training session we had a small meeting with the players who came to chat with us. The Bilingual Section students took the opportunity to practice English in a real communicative situation with the international players.

 Thank you very much to the club for giving us this opportunity to get closer to this popular sport in our city as well as to the players.

LEARNING MATHS

 

   Today we have learnt and practise decimal metric system with Plicker.

WE HAVE A LOGO FOR THE SECTION!!

 

   Do you remember the competition we held to design the Section's logo?

  Well, after a long deliberation (all the designs were great), we can finally tell you which logo was the winner.

   It is this design by Blanca Lozano Montes, student of 2nd ESO 21.

     Congratulations on your work Blanca! This logo represents our bilingual section to perfection!

     We would also like to thank all the students who submitted designs. Thank you for contributing your ideas and for always participating in everything we propose.

¿Os acordáis del concurso que convocamos para diseñar el logo de la Sección?

  Pues bien, después de una larga deliberación (todos los diseños han sido estupendos), por fin os podemos comunicar qué logo ha sido el ganador.

   Se trata de este diseño realizado por Blanca Lozano Montes, alumna de 2º ESO 21.

     Enhorabuena por tu trabajo Blanca! Este logo representa a la perfección nuestra sección bilingüe!!

LANGUAGE IMMERSION DAY IN VALDEOBISPO

   

  Last Thursday 31st March, students from the Bilingual Section and the British Council programme in 1st and 2nd ESO took part in a language immersion day in Valdeopispo, Cáceres.

They enjoyed a lot of activities in English in the middle of nature: track games, dances, archery, theatre performances and activities related to Harry Potter.

After so many months without being able to do this kind of excursions, the experience was wonderful.

We are looking forward to doing many more activities like this one!

     

El pasado jueves 31 de marzo, los alumnos de la Sección Bilingüe y del programa British Council de 1º y 2º de ESO participaron en una jornada de inmersión lingüística en Valdeopispo, Cáceres.

Disfrutaron de un montón de actividades en inglés en plena naturaleza: juegos de pistas, bailes, tiro con arco, representaciones teatrales y actividades relacionadas con Harry Potter.

Después de tantos meses sin poder realizar este tipo de excursiones, la experiencia fue maravillosa. ¡Estamos deseando poder hacer muchas mas actividades como esta!

    

   

LEARNING MATHS

     Learning Maths is awesome with our super teacher Lara!!!! 

  We have been learning about measuringreal things and  spaces around the school. The use of Maths in real contexts  makes it easier to understand the concepts we are learning.  The use of rulers and measuring tapes we have found it quite easier to understand the authentic use of Maths in our everyday life as well as we develop our mathematical competence.

   ¡¡¡¡Aprender Matemáticas es increíble con nuestra súper profesora Lara!!!! 

  Hemos estado aprendiendo a medir cosas y espacios reales en el colegio. El uso de las matemáticas en contextos reales facilita la comprensión de los conceptos que estamos aprendiendo.  El uso de reglas y cintas métricas nos ha facilitado la comprensión del uso auténtico de las Matemáticas en nuestra vida cotidiana, así como el desarrollo de nuestra competencia matemática.

SAINT PATRICK'S WEEK

 

St. Patrick's Day, the patron saint of Ireland, will be celebrated on 17th March. It is a great day of celebration for the Irish community.  Although we are in the middle of exam week, the team of teachers of the Bilingual Section are preparing some activities so you can enjoy yourselves and learn about Irish culture.

We hope you enjoy them and that they will help us to "get through" these last days of the second assessment period.

El próximo 17 de Marzo se celebra el día de San Patricio, patrón de Irlanda. Es una gran día de celebración para la comunidad irlandesa.  Aunque estamos en plena semana de exámenes, el equipo de profesores de la Sección Bilingüe os estamos preparando algunas actividades para disfrutar y aprender sobre la cultura irlandesa.

Esperamos que os gusten y nos sirvan para "llevar mejor" estos últimos días de la segunda evaluación.

   

ERASMUS PROJECT: SUSTAINABLE CITIES. First virtual mobil

 

Students from the Bilingual Section have been participating in the Erasmus project: Sustainable cities. Past and Present.

We have been working on heritage in our city and our homeland Extremadura, as well as and the different ages all  in History. Due to the pandemic we are not travelling to our school mates' schools to share all our activitites and work. Instead, we have opted for virtual meetings where we have shared all about pre historic times in our city (visiting Maltravieso Caves) and how to consume locally to help both the environment and our city's shops.
