WHAT ARE YOU GRATEFUL FOR?

Thanksgiving is celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. It is a tradition that dates back to the 17th century, when the First Thanksgiving is said to have been held in the New World. In this video, students of 1st and 3rd ESO learnt about the origins of this unique festivity:

Traditionally, Thanksgiving Day is a day to celebrate the abundant harvest and other blessings of the past year. Today this celebration is rich in legend and symbolism. Typically, a Thanksgiving Dinner includes roast turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. It is definitely a day to be grateful for.

1st ESO students learnt through the story My Gratitude Jar by Kristin Wiens what it really means to be thankful and then wrote their gratitude messages in the presentation below.

To top it all off, we had some Augmented Reality fun with Quiver Masks and everybody in class turned into cute ( and sometimes spooky) turkeys.
